Empty name and empty rank have long lain dim;
you seek the steed of fortune, not yet found;
a patch of colored cloud comes past the autumn's end,
and last year's scenes turn new all in a moment.
Interpretation
A whole year of busy striving gains only titles fine in name alone; but wait until after autumn (or after middle age) and your luck will turn.
