Zhuge Oracle Lesson 331

Oracle Text

The mountains run out, the road turns and bewilders,
the water races, the boat can hardly cross;
in all things, do not force your way—
for wherever you go you meet with carping and envy.

Interpretation

Crossing mountains and waters to travel far is all unfavorable; if you defy your fate and stubbornly go your own way, you'll often meet resentment and slander.
